The Perfect Weekend Packing List (Emilie Tested and Approved in Napa)
When Emilie packed for her trip to Napa Valley for the BottleRock Festival, she nailed it. Every piece in her suitcase was intentional—versatile, elevated, and ready for anything from vineyard tastings to dancing barefoot at a concert. As soon as she sent me the recap, I had to share her packing strategy. Because whether you’re heading to wine country or just planning your next little escape, this is how you want to pack.
What Made the Cut
First things first—foundation pieces.
Em always starts with her Boob-eez Stick-On Bra and Headlight Hiders (in the little travel case, of course). These are a non-negotiable. They smooth everything out, disappear under any outfit, and just make getting dressed easier. Especially when you’re packing light.
The black mini dress.
She brought her Susana Monaco one and wore it multiple ways—dressed down for day, dressed up for dinner. It’s the ultimate “looks like I tried, even if I didn’t” kind of piece.
The cozy-but-cute romper.
Also Susana Monaco. Lightweight and effortless, but somehow looks put-together. She threw a Velvet Heart jacket over it in the evenings when it got chilly (because Napa always gets chilly at night).
One fun mini.
Emilie packed a tie-dye linen dress for color and comfort. Easy, breathable, and something you can throw on without thinking.
A long dress for the long lunches.
Flowy and comfortable for wine tastings and those drawn-out, dreamy midday meals. The kind of dress that just feels right when you’re holding a glass of something chilled and listening to good music.
Shoes that do it all.
She brought two pairs of Melissa mules—black and nude. That’s it. That’s all you need. They go with everything and they're grass-friendly (no broken ankles!). I fully support this move.
Jewelry you don’t need to swap.
A necklace from Sahira and a few Alco bracelets. Simple, chic, and they went with every single outfit.
A Little More About Her Trip...
Em flew into San Francisco to visit her childhood best friend before heading to Napa. From there, the group piled into an Uber XXL (which wasn’t actually that XXL, based on the hilarious photos I saw) and kicked off the trip with dinner and live music at Gargiulo Vineyards. An 18-year-old guitar prodigy named Grace Bowers played that night—and apparently she was incredible.
Mornings started with cappuccinos (two at a time) and avo toast at The Model Bakery. Days were spent at the BottleRock Festival, which Em described as three days of bougie food, wine, and music. Green Day crushed it on Day 1. Benson Boone had everyone crying on Day 2. Cage the Elephant closed things out on Day 3 while the group sipped wine and watched the sun go down.
In between, they stopped at Favia for a private lunch and tasting (aka the same spot that inspired Carlie’s wedding menu - you can read allll about that weekend here), visited Napa Valley Reserve, and made late-night stops at Gotts for veggie burgers, fries, and milkshakes on the way home. Honestly, I was jealous just hearing about it.
She ended the trip back in San Francisco, sipping wine by the fire pit and replaying the whole weekend over the BottleRock Spotify playlist - you MUST listen to it after you're done reading this blog post.
Moral of the story? A well-packed suitcase goes a long way. You don’t need to overpack—you just need pieces that work together, shoes that won’t slow you down, and a few thoughtful details that make you feel good.
And maybe a post-concert milkshake, too.
Thanks for reading! Same time next week?
XOXO,
the gals at Jaffi's
