The Intentional Closet Edit
Every season has a way of asking us the same question:
What are you ready to hold onto... and what are you ready to let go?
As summer gives way to fall, many of us feel the urge to organize a closet, swap out sandals for boots, or make room for cozy sweaters. It's tempting to think we need an entirely new wardrobe.
But maybe what we really need isn't more. Maybe we just need more intention.
Recently, I helped a client clean out and organize her closet. We spent hours going through vintage treasures - pieces that held stories of who she was, who she is, and who she’s becoming. It felt like flipping through chapters of her life.
As we worked, I realized we weren't really organizing clothes. We were editing a story - every closet tells one. It tells the story of where we've been, what we've celebrated, and who we're becoming.
Some pieces deserve a permanent place because they hold special memories. And others have done their job. It's okay to thank them and let them go.
That's why I don't believe in keeping something just because it's expensive... Or trendy... Or because someone online said it's a "must-have."
Keep it because you love it, reach for it, and when you put it on, you feel like yourself.
The same is true when shopping.
Before adding something new to your closet, ask yourself:
-
Will I wear this often?
-
Can I style it more than one way?
-
Does it fit my life?
-
Will I love it next season?
If the answer is yes, it's probably worth bringing home. And if not, leave space for something that really belongs.
At Jaffi's, we believe in helping you find beautiful pieces you'll wear on repeat. Clothes that travel with you, become part of birthdays, vacations, celebrations, and ordinary Tuesdays.
As the seasons change, give yourself permission to edit with grace. Keep what you love, wear what you love, and let go of what no longer serves you.
When you do decide to bring something new into your closet, choose pieces that really belong.
Because the best wardrobes aren't the biggest ones… they're the most intentional.
