Don’t Sweat Rush Week (Literally): The Stylish Girl’s Guide to Sorority Recruitment

Hi girls!

It’s officially recruitment season, which means it’s time to sweat through your favorite dress, wonder if you’re blinking too much during conversations, and stress over whether your shoes scream “future president” or “please let me sit down.” But truthfully, it’s one of the most exciting, fun, and memorable weeks you’ll have—so take a breath and enjoy the ride.

Lucky for you, I’m a retired sorority girlie (four years deep, thank you very much), and not to flex but I did make our recruitment lookbook… so you’re in good hands.

Here’s everything I wish I had in my bag, on my body, and in my brain when I went through sorority recruitment—plus a few pieces from Jaffi’s that’ll make you look like the coolest girl in the room (without trying too hard, of course).

Let’s start with the clothes.

Every round gets progressively dressier. But here's the thing—they're interviewing you, they're meeting a friend. So wear something that feels like you. Something you’d wear on a really good day when you feel like the best version of yourself.

Here are a few Jaffi’s-approved faves to get you started:

Now let’s talk about the things no one tells you to pack.

These are the real MVPs of the week. Screenshot this. Send it to your group chat. Tattoo it on your arm. Whatever it takes:

  • Boob-eez nipple covers + stick-on bras – Trust me. They stay put all day (even when it’s 98 degrees), and you won’t have to think about them until you’re home peeling them off like a sticker at the end of a long day. Bless.

  • Flip flops (Havaianas!) – Walk between houses in these, then throw your heels on right before walking in. Your blisters will thank you.

  • Blotting sheets – Because the humidity doesn't play nice.

  • Fan – Not a want. A need.

  • Notebook + pen – Write things down after each convo. Future-you will be grateful when everything starts to blur.

  • Lip gloss – We’re partial to Bitchstix lip oils. So good.

  • Essential oil roller – The Essential Faith one smells like vacation + good decisions.

  • Sunglasses – We have a ton of good ones from DIFF at Jaffi’s. For walking in style (and incognito, if needed.)

  • Unique Jewelry - A statement earring or charm necklace isn’t just cute—it’s a convo starter. Wear something that feels special to you and let your jewels do some of the talking.

Final thoughts

Be yourself. Seriously. It’s cliché for a reason. Don’t dress like the girl you think they want to meet—dress like the girl you want to meet.

Also, when it’s all over? Put on your coziest lounge set, order something carb-y, and give yourself a standing ovation in the mirror. Because recruitment is no joke.

You’re doing amazing, sweetie. And if you need a cute dress, a perfect lip oil, or just a pep talk—we’re here.

XOXO,

the gals at Jaffi's
